It recalls Benito Martín Lozano, a socialist councillor on Madrid’s City Council in the first democratic corporations.

Martín Lozano joined the corporation formed after the municipal elections of April 1979, the first of the democracy, and returned in the one elected in 1983, under mayor Enrique Tierno Galván. The details of his earlier life are not reliably documented. The street crosses the Las Acacias district. At number 3 stands the Arganzuela Municipal Community Health Center. His name also survives in a municipal seniors' center in the Centro district.
