Calle de Antonia Domínguez
Bears the name of Antonia Domínguez, owner of the land through which this street of the Bellas Vistas neighbourhood was laid out, opened in Tetuán in 1923.
Antonia Domínguez owned the land through which this street of the Bellas Vistas neighbourhood was laid out. When the street was opened in 1923 and needed a name, hers was chosen.
It was a common way of christening streets in the Tetuán that was growing northward: on privately developed land, the surname of whoever owned the ground ended up fixing the name. Of Antonia Domínguez herself nothing more has been documented, neither her origins nor what tie she had to the neighbourhood beyond that plot.
The street is short and ends at Leñeros, one of the streets that recall the old trades of a still semi-rural Tetuán.
