Calle Piscis
It takes its name from the zodiacal constellation of Pisces, within the Estrella neighborhood, whose streets evoke the night sky.
Calle de Piscis points at the sky. It bears the name of the zodiacal constellation of the Fishes, one of the twelve bands the Sun appears to cross over the course of the year.
The Estrella neighborhood was developed on land tied to the La Estrella insurance company, and whoever laid out its streets chose to fill it entirely with heavenly bodies. Around Piscis run streets like calle de Sirio, calle de la Estrella Polar and calle de Perseo: walking the neighborhood means crossing a star map at ground level.
The constellation is shown as two fish tied by the tail and swimming in opposite directions. Greek legend says Aphrodite and her son Eros, surprised by the monster Typhon on a riverbank, turned into fish to escape and tied themselves with a cord so as not to lose each other in the current.
